In 2021, only seven years after Niel Rider started the Junior girls section were they able to form their first Women’s team. Almost all from the home grown talent that learnt there skills here at Falkland cricket club.
Falkland Women play in the HCWCL (Serious Cricket Home Counties Women’s Cricket League ) which offers the highest standard of competitive women’s cricket in the home counties, with approx. 40 clubs through four divisions.
The team was promoted to the Premier Division of the HCWCL in 2022, and the team won the league in 2023.
Through the Girls and Women’s section Falkland have produced a large number of Berkshire County cricketers in all age groups, and with a number of these players progressing to the Vipers Academy and with Ava Lee; who started at Falkland in the U11, now a regular in the Vipers first team.
Training for women is on Friday evenings and matches are normally played on Sundays through the Summer.
For those not keen on hard ball cricket or wanting to start with something a little easier, Falkland now offer Women’s softball .
