Falkland U9s v Thatcham Town U9s

What could add to a Sunday full of the Tour de France, men's Wimbledon final and the World Cup final...? Only another cracking Falkland u9s match, today away at Thatcham Town.

Falkland lost the toss and were invited to bat first. The boys in blue started strongly, hitting some sumptuous shots through the covers and running excellently between the wickets. Then came the much feared power-hitting middle and lower order who contributed well to get the score up to 134 - and it could have been more if it wasn't for some excellent ground fielding from the Thatcham boys and girls.

Falkland's bowlers kept it tight in the early overs and the breakthrough came in third over when an edge behind was taken excellently by the keeper. That didn't deter Thatcham, who picked up their scoring rate well. But Falkland's experience was clear as they managed to close the game down and restrict Thatcham to a credible 115.

So that's another win on the road for Falkland U9s. Can they maintain their unbeaten record at the home fortress next week, in the final match of the season? See you there to find out!
